We were out at a noisy Cafe, aren’t they all noisy? Amidst screaming and talking and laughter all loud, he asked me why I loved you.

He said there must be reasons and he wanted to know. As my nervous gaze shifted from him to a friend to the coffee in my cup to your brown eyes, I refused to answer. I smiled, actually laughed and ignored his question.

All the while I drove back home in silence, I thought of you. The way you smiled, that stupid joke of yours and that ridiculously infectious laughter that followed, the way your hand felt in mineĀ and above all the comfort of being with you.

Why do I love you, he asked…
I don’t have a reason.
I have none at all.
