I’ll draw you a title, <3

Hello, you’ve been a good listener. Perhaps we should continue this as long as we can.

It’s a new day. So I thought I’d just check on you. And also tell you a few things.

I dislike Tuesdays. I love Mondays. I have my weekly off on a Monday, hence no Monday blues. Wait, perhaps I don’t love Mondays. I like Mondays. Love is too strong a word. Don’t you think so?

“I love you. I’m not sure if you love me.”

“You love me. I’m not sure if I love you.”

That could be a fine way to use the word love. Isn’t it?

Did you know one of the many difficult words in English is approbation? It means approval or praise.

Though I beg to differ. Do you what’s a difficult word and emotion? Love.

Have you ever realised how simple alphabets are put together to form complex feelings?

I’ve heard so many people talk about love. “Love is supposed to be the easiest thing.” “You’re not supposed to sweat it out.” and a lot of other things.

Having been in love and having put those who love me through hell, I can assure you this. Love is not easy. It might to easy to spell and even draw, <3, here I did it. But it’s one of the most difficult things to actually do.

To wake up every morning and sub-consciously decide that you will love someone is a decision that we all take for granted.

Love is not easy. Love can be frustrating, sometimes painful. But love will also be happy and cheerful.

It won’t always be bright summer days, sometimes it’ll be dark, damp and long rainy days. Love will annoy, disgust and baffle you. But love will also guide you back safely to the shore. And if you can’t take annoying rainy days, how can you ever want to enjoy a pleasant morning?

I don’t really want to paint a beautiful picture of love and disappoint you. But I don’t want to lie to you either. At the risk of sounding like a cheesy movie, or perhaps I’ve crossed that line long back. I’ll let you in on a little secret, love is beautiful.

Love, like a lot of other things in life, is practical. I of all people should learn that. Love will make someone want to stay with you, despite all your madness. But when the danger level is crossed, there is always the worry of a flood.

Sometimes you’ll recover, sometimes you won’t.

But know this. Love will crawl and slowly creep back. It will try to enter through every crack of your broken heart. And if your heart hasn’t been weakened in some way by an emotion this strong; If the walls are too tough to get in, it will break everything that comes in it’s way.

“Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision.”

―  Erich Fromm in The Art of Loving.

Yes love is a decision, yes you’ll have to make up your mind. And despite the outcome, you, you of all people should know.

Love will always find a way back into your life. Back into your heart.
